Two Niagara-bound lanes on the QEW bridge are scheduled to close tonight (Thursday, July 17) from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday.
Niagara-bound drivers heading over the Burlington Skyway can expect overnight lane closures again this week—though full weekend shutdowns have been delayed until next weekend.
Two Niagara-bound lanes on the QEW bridge are scheduled to close tonight (Thursday, July 17) from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday. The closures will repeat Friday night (July 18) from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
Originally, the Ministry of Transportation had announced a full weekend closure of two Niagara-bound lanes from 10 p.m. Friday, July 18 through 5 a.m. Monday, July 21. However, that plan has been cancelled for this weekend.
Instead, the first full weekend closure is now scheduled for Friday, July 25 to Monday, July 28, with additional closures slated throughout the summer. The tentative schedule for two-lane Niagara-bound closures includes:
July 25–28
August 8–11
August 15–18
August 22–25
According to the ministry, the lane restrictions are part of ongoing improvement work and are subject to change depending on weather and project progress. Additional closures may be required beyond August.
