Burlington’s City Talk Summer 2025 highlights key initiatives, updates, and opportunities for residents across all six wards.

Burlington’s City Talk Summer 2025 highlights key initiatives, updates, and opportunities for residents across all six wards. Councillors shared local news, from community events and park pop-ups to budget town halls and development updates. Major investments are underway in community spaces, including the $39 million Skyway Community Centre and Park and the repurposed Robert Bateman Community Centre, both designed to provide accessible, multi-use facilities.

The City is also addressing climate resilience with over $12 million invested in stormwater management, supporting flood prevention and sustainability efforts. Residents are encouraged to engage in programs such as the Additional Residential Unit Incentive, volunteer opportunities, and the City’s e-scooter pilot, as well as initiatives to coexist safely with wildlife.

City engagement remains a priority, with platforms like Get Involved Burlington, Community Panels, and budget consultations empowering residents to shape policies, the 2026 budget, and municipal decisions. The 2026 Financial Forecast anticipates a 4.49% total tax increase, with Burlington’s portion under 3%, and Council is seeking public input through surveys, town halls, and committee meetings.

Updates on ward boundary changes, municipal elections, and inclusive programs like the Accessible Sport and Art Council further reinforce the City’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and community participation. From transit programs to support for local businesses, the newsletter showcases Burlington’s focus on affordability, livability, and a high quality of life for all residents.
