The theme for this year, “Snow Much Fun!”, celebrates everything we love about winter—from skating and sledding to snowball fights and all the snowy adventures that make the season magical.
For 76 years, the Oakville Santa Claus Parade has been a treasured community tradition, bringing together residents of all ages to celebrate the joy of the holidays. Whether you’re participating in the parade or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a day that captures the true spirit of Oakville—festive, friendly, and full of heart.
The parade’s story dates back to 1948, when Bill Hughes, then President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, organized the first event to help boost business in Downtown Oakville. What began as a local initiative has since grown into one of the town’s most beloved annual celebrations—proof that the magic of community and Christmas never fades.
Avoid parking hassles and take the free Oakville Transit shuttle from the Oakville GO station to the parade. The Santa Shuttle runs every 5 to 10 minutes from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. along Dorval Drive to Trafalgar Park Community Centre with no stops in between.
