Winter is my least favorite season, but living in Burlington helps me find the bright side. This city offers a perfect mix of relaxation, culture, and exploration. Whether you’re looking for cozy indoor experiences or a bit of outdoor adventure, Burlington has something for everyone.

Here’s a guide to five must-try winter activities in Burlington.

Indulge in Comfort Food

Winter is the ideal time to savor warm, hearty meals, and Burlington’s restaurant scene does not disappoint. Enjoy decadent pasta dishes with impeccable service at DiMario’s Trattoria or visit Marco’s Bakery for incredible Eastern European delicacies. Burgers are my weakness, and I can’t help but try them wherever I go—the latest being the mouthwatering burger at Jackson’s Landing.

Enjoy a Spa Day

Pamper yourself with a luxurious spa day at one of Burlington’s many spas. My personal favorite is The Pearle Hotel and Spa. Situated along the waterfront, this stunning retreat offers rejuvenating treatments and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario. Whether it’s a massage, facial, or simply lounging in their serene atmosphere, this is the ultimate way to escape the winter blues. Plus, the place smells divine!

Explore the Arts

Burlington’s thriving arts scene is the perfect escape on a chilly day. Visit the Art Gallery of Burlington to admire contemporary Canadian art or participate in one of their hands-on workshops. For live entertainment, check out the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, which regularly hosts plays, concerts, and family-friendly shows throughout the winter months.

Take a Hike

If you’re up for a little winter adventure, Burlington’s parks offer stunning snow-covered trails. Mount Nemo Conservation Area and the Bruce Trail are popular choices for a refreshing hike, but my personal favorite is LaSalle Park. Wandering through its peaceful, forested trails always feels like stepping into a winter fairy tale.

Explore the Shopping Scene

Stay warm while treating yourself to some retail therapy in Burlington’s boutique shops. From trendy fashion to unique home decor, there’s plenty to discover. I adore the feminine and chic vibes of Pure Boutique and Woven; while Mapleview Mall has a variety of stores that cater to any clothing need.

Whether I’m indulging in delicious food or exploring Burlington’s culture and nature, winter here is an experience to savor. Make the most of the season, everyone!
