DNA evidence has led to a Burlington man’s arrest as part of an investigation into a vehicle stolen in Guelph almost a year ago.

On Jan. 14, Guelph Police officers were patrolling a south-end parking lot when they found a Nissan Pathfinder with stolen license plates.

Police said investigation revealed the vehicle was reported as stolen three months earlier.

DNA collected from the vehicle was analyzed and matched to the suspect.

On Tuesday, a 40-year-old man from Burlington was arrested for having stolen property worth over $5000 on him, possessing property worth under $5000 and six counts of driving while prohibited.
