Local focus, provincial action: how Oakville North–Burlington is benefitting from Ontario’s investments.
Oakville North–Burlington’s MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos is doubling down on a mission to deliver what matters most to local residents: safe communities, better healthcare, and high-quality education. As Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, she’s playing a key role in pushing forward Ontario’s broader plan to invest in people and secure a stronger future.
Building Safer Communities
Public safety remains a top priority. From expanding police resources to tackling Ontario’s auto theft crisis with new legislation and a Major Auto Theft Prosecution Response Team, the Ford government is taking bold steps to protect communities. The proposed laws would empower police to seize keyless theft technology and disrupt organized crime networks.
Triantafilopoulos has also pointed to progress in bail reform and new initiatives like Serious Violent Crime Bail Teams, which aim to prevent repeat offenders from exploiting the system. The province is further investing in:
$1 million in support for human trafficking survivors
Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grants ($12.75M) to enhance safety at religious and cultural institutions
Local efforts to move residents out of encampments and restore safety in public spaces
“These aren’t just policies,” she said. “They’re actions that make a difference—right here in Oakville North–Burlington.”
Stronger, Closer Healthcare
Triantafilopoulos is also a key voice in Ontario’s healthcare transformation. Over the past year, the province has funded nearly 66,000 MRI hours and over 31,000 CT hours across diagnostic and surgical centres. These moves aim to reduce surgical backlogs and cut wait times through publicly funded procedures delivered in local communities.
New investments include:
$235 million to expand 130+ primary care teams, connecting over 300,000 Ontarians to family doctors
More nurses and healthcare professionals across the system
A new mental health unit at Joseph Brant Hospital, which will expand services for outpatient care, youth mental health, and psychiatric support
“We’re bringing care closer to home—whether it’s diagnostics, surgery, or mental health,” said Triantafilopoulos.
Investing in Education and the Next Generation
Education is another major pillar of the government’s plan. Oakville North–Burlington is one of Ontario’s fastest-growing areas, and the province has responded with nearly $226 million in school funding, supporting:
Five new elementary schools
One new secondary school
One secondary school expansion
Over 5,800 student spaces and 440 new licensed childcare spots
Beyond bricks and mortar, Ontario is increasing funding for STEM and skilled trades programs, mental health supports in schools, and modernized classroom infrastructure.
“Our students are the future,” Triantafilopoulos said. “We’re making sure they’re ready for the jobs of tomorrow.”
Local Leadership, Lasting Results
Whether it’s safer streets, expanded hospital care, or new schools, MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos is helping drive progress that directly impacts Oakville North–Burlington residents. Her ongoing advocacy ensures that local voices remain heard as Ontario builds toward a more secure, healthy, and opportunity-rich future.
