As part of a brand new pilot program, local residents aged 16 and up can now rent bright, zippy SCOOTY electric scooters and cruise along the scenic Centennial Trail. Whether you’re commuting, exploring, or just looking for a fun way to roll into the weekend, these sleek scooters are ready to ride. You’ll find them downtown between Brant Street and the Elgin Promenade, or at the trail’s other end near Burloak Drive.

A quick heads-up: helmets are mandatory for riders under 18 and strongly recommended for everyone else. Safety first, scooting second.

Getting started is a breeze. Just download the SCOOTY app, locate your ride, and you’re off! The cost? Just $1.15 to unlock, plus $0.35 a minute (which shakes out to about $2.10 for a half-hour spin). Want to make sure your scooter doesn’t get snatched before you arrive? You can reserve one in advance for an extra $2.

One last thing—make sure to park your SCOOTY in a designated zone along the Centennial Trail when you’re done. That’s how you stop the clock and keep the city running smoothly.
